Jul 11, 2016 10:13 AM in response to Proggieby Old Toad,How old is the mouse? I had a similar problem and learned that the batteries were losing contact at the + end every now and then. They were just not snug enough in the batter compartment. I placed some Al foil, folded up, between the battery's + end and the mouse's contact point for each battery. That solved it for me.

Jul 11, 2016 11:40 AM in response to Proggieby jlopez.chicago,Hi Proggie,
I had this issue on Magic Mouse 1 on Mac Mini 2013 model. This was due to the bluetooth shielding on these devices. OWC sent me a little foil looking sticker to place over it. This was causing poor reception.
Even without that particular issues, this can can happen when batteries are low, batteries are alkaline, or there is many devices around on the 2.4 ghz spectrum.
What troubleshooting have you done as far as system software? Have you reapplied the latest 10.11.x combo? (sometimes I find it fixes many of the 'gremlin' issues)
Regards,
Jorge

Jul 23, 2016 7:31 AM in response to Proggieby Julian702,This happens to me too, all the time and it is driving me nuts. My Magic Mouse is only 3 days old and is 100% charged. After reading some of the comments on this site, i have tried turning it on and off a few times in quick succession and suddenly it started working again. Prior to doing this, Mouse in Preferences kept telling me that it was connected but it would not move. I will see how long it goes on working.

If your Wi-Fi is capable of generating a 5 GHz signal, try that.
Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time.

Sep 6, 2016 1:18 PM in response to Proggieby Viettim,I fixed it by simply cuting the cover off the positive + end of the rechargeable batteries I use and it hasn't disconnected yet.
