Q: I cannot activate my iPhone 5 because I don remember the Apple ID with which I defied the iPhone. I have the receipt for buying this iPhone. What shall I do?

I cannot activate my iPhone 5 because I don't remember the Apple ID with which I defied the iPhone. I have the receipt for buying this iPhone.

The cellular provider, from which this iPhone was bought, refers me to Apple.

The Apple's service website refers me to DCS and iDigital in my country which say that since this iPhone was not bought from them, they do not want to support.

Catch 22.

What shall I do?

    Hello Ptaxey,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I already tried this with no success. I didn't use iTunes to purchase, and I do not have any clue on the Apple ID. I have an Apple ID with the same mail of mine, but this doesn't get me activating the iPhone.

I surveyed the net, and it appears that  I need to send a proof of purchase, which I have to Apple, but unfortunately, I couldn't fins any email address to do so.

    What shall I do?

    Thanks, N.

Did you purchase this iPhone second hand?  Is it Activation Locked - with the Apple ID of the original owner?

In that case, you would have to contact the original owner or the iPhone would remain useless to you forever.

In that case also, it's a good thing you have your purchase receipt as perhaps you could return the useless iPhone to the place you purchased it and receive a refund.

Thank you dear sberman for the reply.

I purchased the iPhone, and I have the receipt.

In the link you've provided you might read "If you forget your password, you can reset it at your Apple ID account page or you can contact Apple Support and verify your identity." Unfortunately I do not remember neither the Apple ID with which this iPhone was defined nor the password.

The problem is that "or you can contact Apple Support and verify your identity" has no practical meaning. The website refer me to providers in my country, and from their answers, it spears that they are focusing on sales and not on service.

    Already 2 weeks i have a mock-up of my iPhone 5...
