Q: my purchase is not transferring to my device

I purchased a song on iTunes on my laptop.  Now, when I sync my phone with iTunes, it will not transfer.  I tried rebooting, downloading the song again.. nothing is working.  Any suggestions?  My iTunes is the current version.
