Q: Macbook Air Randomly Shuts Off

I am currently traveling abroad in India (originally from the US) with my macbook air. About two days after I arrived, my computer started shutting itself off randomly and on a regular basis. As far as I can tell, there is no pattern to the shutdowns – they happen when the computer has plenty of battery left, when it’s almost empty, when it’s plugged in, when it’s not plugged in, etc. When the computer is plugged into a power source, it usually restarts itself automatically, and resumes normal operations as if nothing happened. If it’s not plugged in, it just stays off.

Except for one time, there haven't been any error messages accompanying the shutdowns. The one error message I did receive said something along the lines of "your computer shut down because of a problem."

There are no apple stores where I am travelling, so taking my computer to the genius bar isn’t really an option. Any information about what the problem might be and/or how to fix it would be much appreciated.

Not sure if this is important, but I spilled a small amount of water on my computer a few months ago, but it has been functioning normally since then. I was able to turn the computer upside-down quite quickly, so I don’t think too much liquid got under the keyboard.

Thanks for your help!
