Q: Sync Problems

I have recently bought a new windows pc running windows 10.

After installing itunes (12.4.1.6) and logging on to my account I can see all my library and play them fine. The problem is that the library no longer is on my local drive and doesn't sync with my ipod. Only music that I've manually added by importing music from a cd syncs. How can I resolve this?

Did you copy all of the music from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one?

Hi

I did take a back up of my music before ditching the old pc. However, I thought itunes automatically downloaded purchases on to the new one. I can see and play the purchases but they're no longer on my local drive so don't sync with my ipod. If I drop the back up into the "automatically add to itunes" folder won't this cause duplicates?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I've just tried dropping the music from my back up into the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder as suggested by roaminggnome above and it seems to be working without causing any duplicates.
