Q: I want to reset.

If I want to start fresh with my computer would it be safe to save photos and documents to a flash drive and just factory reset the device?

    You should always have back ups of all of your critical files and using a flash drive would be one way to do so. In addition, if you have been using Time Machine, your files will be located there as well. Basically, you can never have enough back ups when you need them.

    Flash drives are great conveniences but they are fragile and easily fried. You should purchase an external hard drive to save your important data and photos.
