Jul 13, 2016 9:48 AM in response to dfecciby lllaass,- Most printers will print a test page themselves, without a computer connected.
Print such a test page if your printer supports it
- Do you get the problem if you print a test page form the Printer preferences in OSX?
Just what drivers did you download/install?
I do not find your printer listed here:

Jul 13, 2016 10:03 AM in response to dfecciby Grant Bennet-Alder,Your Printer is not a Postscript printer, and may be being sent Postscript commands (which produce gibberish). Default setup has found the Printer, but has not set it up as the correct type.
You should note the Printer's IP address. Then set up a new Printer Queue using the "IP" tab instead of the "Default" tab. Then specify that the printer is a "HP JetDirect - Socket" printer, and enter its IP Address manually.

Jul 13, 2016 10:26 AM in response to lllaassby Grant Bennet-Alder,In this case, you should not need the Gutenprint/ Linux Printing drivers. Lexmark claims to provide drivers that should do the job.
If they did not provide Drivers, this could certainly be a solution for many Printers.
The problem many users encounter is that the default Browser is so eager to set up any Printer it can see using Bonjour, and sets the Printer up as the wrong type. You need to manually specify Hp Jet-direct socket instead, and enter the IP address manually.
