Q: Since AV adaptor update, MacBook no longer recognises, nor powers the La Cie Porsche 2TB drive I've been using since I purchased the MacBook. Other Macs power and recognise this drive. What's going on?

Thanks for the suggestions. They seem extreme, but if anyone else has the problem, I would recommend them.

A few MORE restarts and it came good. Not very encouraging.

Hoping it will be better at waking HDMI displays after sleep with the update. Not that I'll discuss that here.

    Cheers

You are not the only one with this problem. I have exactly the same issue.

Restarting and rebooting the computer is not a satisfactory answer.

What I have come to figure out is that after the update to version 2.33, the MacBook fails to recognize any device using the USB 3.0.

If you have an old flash drive or external drive using USB 2.0, try it and you'll see it works.

Something came with this update that prevents the MacBook to recognize the USB 3.0 devices.

Hopefully Apple will be aware of this and make some patch available.

Restarting or NVRAM, helps only for some time, then it fails to work.

I wish there was a way to revert to the previous version.
