Jul 9, 2016 8:41 AM in response to Jesslb23by amomof5,I sent my dad a text while I was on the phone yesterday. I knew it would go thru as a text messag, but it seems to have triggered something and now all of our messages are texts. Nothing will go through iMessage even though iMessage is working with everyone else. I have tried all of the solutions I can find online (except deleting the messages) and nothing works. If I backup my phone, does it save all our messages? I don't want to delete them for personal reasons.

Jul 14, 2016 6:29 AM in response to Jesslb23by A6intruder,Make sure that neither user has the other one blocked. This was the case on my girl friends phone. She swears she didn't block me.LOL She had other numbers blocked mysteriously too. Go to settings then messages checked for blocked numbers, under MMS/SMS, both phones. Note I'm not talking about the block on the contact pages, it's different. Good luck.

Jul 14, 2016 11:34 AM in response to Jesslb23by George Coghill,I had this issue with just one contact, and the solution was that they had removed their email address from their iMessage settings, so I had to use their phone number for sending them iMessages.
I was easily able to see this and fix it on the Mac, not sure how one would do this on the iPhone etc.

Aug 3, 2016 7:41 AM in response to Jesslb23by johntylerc,I was having the same problem. It worked for me when I reset all settings. But I usually keep my text size to the smallest. After resetting all settings and seeing that it worked, I began changing all my settings back to the way I like. As soon as I changed the text size, the problem popped up again. I was unable to text just one specific person.
I changed my text size back to the middle, and it allowed me to open and send the messages.

Aug 31, 2016 12:22 PM in response to Jesslb23by Angelique921,I had the same problem and this is what worked for me:
1. Turn iMessage off
2. Reboot the iPhone
3. Go to messages and delete the thread of that persons messages (I didn't back anything up because I just wanted it fixed)
4. Make sure there aren't any group messages with that contact.
5. Write down their contact info
6. Delete that contact
7. Compose a new message and manually enter the phone number.
8. I sent 2 messages that were green and received one back (that said hers was also green) but on the THIRD response, my message was blue.
9. Re-add the contact
Hope this works!!
