Per the instructions in this kb article, did you restart the iPad and the Apple TV?

Get help with AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

 

If you checked that, you can try power cycling yoyr router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and plug it in again. Also try a forced restart of the iPad. No data is lost with this procedure. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
