Jul 14, 2016 8:21 AM in response to Carolynpby Esquared,★HelpfulThings you can try:
1. Flush DNS cache: http://osxdaily.com/2015/11/16/howto-flush-dns-cache-os-x-elcap/
2. Check the hosts file: Launch Terminal, found in /Applications/Utilities/ and type the following command (followed by enter): sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
You’ll be asked for your password, but that’s OK. Copy and paste the result in a reply to this topic. Afterwards you can quit Terminal (type ctrl-X first).

Jul 14, 2016 8:21 AM in response to Carolynpby Diana.McCall,★HelpfulWhat DNS are you using for the WiFi connection? Check both your device network settings and the router internet settings.
BTW, it works for me using the ISPs DNS. Looks pretty innocuous. When does the server stop responding? After you login, maybe?

Jul 14, 2016 8:34 AM in response to Diana.McCallby Carolynp,Same IP address for both
I can't get the site to open at all.

Jul 14, 2016 8:57 AM in response to Carolynpby sunk818,Its a problem with your WiFi. I can get to the site fine using WiFi on my Phone, LTE, MacBook Pro, and Windows PC.

Jul 14, 2016 9:17 AM in response to Carolynpby ShagCA,While connected to WiFi, can you access www.cheapjoes.com site by IP address (207.32.177.149)? If you can, that's one good indication that your DNS is messed up.
Did you try to use google public dns IP addresses? Look for DNS under wifi settings. Manually enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
-
Jul 14, 2016 9:25 AM in response to ShagCAby ShagCA,Never mind. I can't access 207.32.177.149 either. Try editing your Mac hosts file to include:
206.190.36.45 www.cheapjoes.com
Retry accessing the site after saving the hosts file. If you can access it, DNS is the source of the problem.

Jul 14, 2016 10:47 AM in response to Carolynpby Diana.McCall,You said the DNS was the same IP address for both. Could you tell us what that address is? It might have something to do with your problem.

Jul 14, 2016 12:38 PM in response to Carolynpby Diana.McCall,Thanks. That's an IP on your local LAN. Are you running a nameserver on that computer? Or, if that's the IP of your router, what is the DNS IP in the router internet settings, where it shows the connection to the ISP?
-
Jul 14, 2016 1:53 PM in response to Diana.McCallby Carolynp,The router and DNS are 192.168.0.1. we don't have a server.
-
Jul 14, 2016 1:54 PM in response to Carolynpby ShagCA,Is 192.168.0.186 your WiFi router? If it is, the router is doing name resolution using whatever is in its DNS settings or whatever DNS IP addresses the router receives from the ISP.
-
Jul 14, 2016 1:59 PM in response to ShagCAby Carolynp,Yes. Guess this means I need to contact our IP to resolve this?
