Q: Apple Watch Weather Current Location

Hello everyone,

something  is going on with my Apple Watch and the weather.

i Cannot get the weather of the current location on my watch. current location is activated on my iPhone and I can see it correctly on the native app of the phone.

However I cannot get the same on the watch. The current location is also activated on the weather app of the watch but I can only see the predefined locations.

i Have read a bit over here and I have tried all solutions posted like restart the phone, delete predefined locations, etc but nothing seems to work.

any idea?

Apple Watch, watchOS 2.2.1

    Hi

    The following steps may help:

    • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Privacy > Location Services:
      • Check that Location Services is enabled.
      • Check that Apple Watch Faces is set to While Using.
      • Check that Weather is set to Always.

    • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > General > Background App Refresh:
      • Check that Background App Refresh is enabled.
      • It may also help to enable the setting for Weather.

    Hello Jonathan,

Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately all these options you have mentioned were already activated....

    I don't understand well what's going on...

Hope someone else is going to the same problem and has found the solution.

    Best regards.

I also have this issue. I have also checked all the settings listed above and those listed in other posts. I just tried rebooting both my phone and the watch.

    This is really annoying!

Any other ideas? I  have the same problem and your instructions above didn't rectify the problem.

Turn your location services off, exit the menu, go back in and turn location services back on again.  This was the only thing that fixed mine that was doing the same thing.

This seemed to work for The Weather Channel in glances, complications and the apps face, but not for Weather.  I've tried all of the recommendations above.

If you haven't already done so, un pair then re pair your Apple Watch.

Unpairing the watch did finally fix the weather problem but it took an hour as the first re pairing failed so make sure you have time to waste. I get nervous resetting to factory settings but the backup did work. I'd like to know why it happened in the first place but thanks users for solving it!

hi yeah it happened to me to I just unpair it every two weeks. Apple care said it could be and app or cell tower causing it. its been happing to me for 4 months they don't seem to have a fix totally for it yet. hopefully iOS 3 will fix it. but its only first generation so i knew it getting in. Im not worried though I love the watch it does so many things. I live in Michigan just wandering were others are having this happen to take care

Add this to the list of "try this"... Toggling for location services settings off then on, for the map and weather apps; set to "never" then reset to "while using" or "always" - whatever was set originally. Can't explain why this works.

Disappointed in why unpairing is a standard remedy for watch problems.
