Jun 30, 2016 3:16 PM in response to Jo Desmetby Ramón G Castañeda,Jo Desmet,
Well, auto-correct is something I immediately disable on any machine, Mac or otherwise, because I type in up to 8 different languages, often mixing them up in one and the same document, so Auto-Correct is a nightmare and a useless mess.
Can you please enlighten me as to what a "vi user" is?

Jul 14, 2016 5:14 PM in response to Barney-15Eby Brett A Ryan,Thanks for the solution Barney. However, your reasoning may be flawed. Not being able to repeat kind of ***** for programmers and wiki authors where text markup of tables may need to be marked up with ---- under each heading, and programming styles where comments are blocked.

Google to the rescue:
"vi is a screen-oriented text editor originally created for the Unix operating system. The portable subset of the behavior of vi and programs based on it, and the ex editor language supported within these programs, is described by (and thus standardized by) the Single Unix Specification and POSIX."
Silly me, I was thinking along the terms of vi = visually impaired.
