Q: Speakerphone Does Not Work
So here's the problem: Whenever speakerphone is activated, whether during a phone call, FaceTime audio, or FaceTime video, the microphone does not work. It is not a problem with the microphone itself: it works fine during regular phone calls, it can record voice memos with no issues at all, and Siri understands me perfectly. Only when it is put into SPEAKERPHONE mode during a call or FaceTime does it fail. The call itself is not affected – I can switch speakerphone on and off no problem, but it's rendered useless because the person I'm talking to can't hear anything when it's enabled. It is not an issue of low volume or crackling or anything, it is dead silence – nothing is recorded. I can hear the other person perfectly fine when on speakerphone (and when not), but they can't hear me at all. Again, regular calls and every other function of the microphone works fine.
It has been like this since day 1 with this phone – speakerphone has never worked as long as I can remember. It's at least a couple years old now.
It really annoys me that I can never use speakerphone. IS THERE ANY WAY TO FIX THIS?
iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2
