Hi there,

Please can someone help. I am capturing from a Sony Z1 and I have HD footage on mini dv tapes. I am trying to capture the footage and will down convert it to SD later on. At the moment I am trying to capture and I am not seeing it come through. Does anyone know what settings I need to have Audio Video settings set to. I am using the Preset HDv. The capture window comes up and the timecode runs but no picture or audio is coming through.

Please help someone. Thanks

So wha is the actual footage that you are trying to capture: HD HDV or DV? and if it is DV is is mini DV or DVCam?

From what I have read and experienced, you need version 5.0 or higher, as 4.5 did not support Sony's HD codec.

If you video taped using HDV 1080i/60i, use that preset in FCP 5.x.

Make certain you don't accidentally elect DVCProHD 1080/60i.
