Q: Downgrade Yosemite -> Mavericks

Is it still possible to downgrade from Yosemite to Mavericks? I have MacBook Pro ~2010 aaand it doesn't really cope with it already. I can not find the OS in the App Store already, so I guess there's no official way to do it now?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

    I wouldn't advise you to downgrade your computer's operating system. It will make it vulnerable to hackers and incompatible with many of the most recent products (printers, cameras, etc.) If you are encountering technical issues, maybe you could describe them? You are at the right place to get help!

    If you really want to go back, yes, it would be possible. I can think of two ways right now :

    1. If you have a Time Machine backup from before you updated, you could restore this backup from recovery mode. WARNING : It will not only bring back the old OS, but also erase the files you saved since that backup, so you would need to backup those files first so you can get them back after downgrading the OS.

    2. Check which exact model you have by using the Apple menu, then About this Mac. Then, see which OS it came with (see OS X versions and builds included with Mac computers - Apple Support). Using Internet recovery (that's Cmd-Option-R on startup; you may also call it Cmd-Alt-R depending on your keyboard) should offer you the option to restore the OS the computer came with. I would strongly advise you to backup your Macbook Pro first, though.

    If you previously downloaded the OS from the App Store, check your Purchases tab.

    Have you tried to determine why you're having problems with Yosemite?  Also download and run Etrecheck.  Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here (and recommended by Apple Support personnel) in the ASC to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.
