Q: Windows want to format iPod, iTunes want to restore it, nothing works...
Hi there,
I bought an iPod nano 7th gen,
I had iTunes installed already on my pc (surface pro 4 running windows 10).
So I charged the iPod with a phone charger, then I connected it to my computer, and two things prompted, first 2 messages from Windows explorer saying that the iPod needs to be formatted, then iTunes says that the iPod is corrupt and it needs to be restored.
So I ignore the windows messages and I restored the iPod on iTunes (it downloaded the latest version of it's software), but every time the restore is finish and iTunes is waiting for the iPod to restart, it goes back to the beginning, Windows saying that it needs formatting and iTunes says the device is corrupted.
I've trying from everything, formatting the iPod, uninstalling the drivers, reinstalling iTunes, removing the disk letter on disk manager (well the iPod is shown as RAW).
Don't know what to do anymore.
Anyone?

Try getting some running iTunes on Windows 7 to restore the device for you. There appears to be an issue with recent builds of Windows 10 falsely reporting iPods as having a corrupt drive when they have not. This may prevent the restore process from completing properly. You could also try a complete tear down and rebuild of iTunes in case there is a different reason for your issue. See the second box in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details.
