Q: i phone video shot "portrait" style for Final Cut Pro X
Hi, thanks in advance. I have some iphone video in my timeline that I shot in "portrait" (by mistake).
When I play it (Mac -- Final Cut Pro X) it has a lot of black on both sides (outside of the video on right side and left side). Does anyone know how to get rid of the black areas so just the video shows in the movie? Thanks and take care.
IMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

there're five opions to handle 'vertical video syndrome', in recommended order
• in a 16:9 project black bars - what FCPX does automaticallly
• in a 16:9 project 'some' fill, try my free VerticalVideoFIxer >> http://www.fcp.co/forum/film-looks-effects/24655-verticalvideofixer
• in a 16:9 project zoom the clip to fit width => has to chop-off parts top/buttom
• a customized 9:16 project - which looks odd on any normal display (smartTVs, laptops et al)
• stretch/distort clip to fit 16:9 screen - … not really
