Q: Software instruments getting mixed up
Hello,
I'm using MainStage 3.2.4 on OS X 10.11.5, and I have noticed that in the last few months (since one of the recent updates, I'm not sure if it was the latest one or the previous one), sometimes, when I open a concert, many of the software instruments' settings have swapped around with each other! All the channel strips and layers are appearing more or less as they should, but the actual sounds are ones from another patch entirely.
For instance, I will select the patch for 'Billie Jean', for example, and when I play, instead of hearing the ES2 synth string sound I'm expecting to, I get, say, the lead sound from 'Treasure'. (But this doesn't mean that when I go to the 'Treasure' patch I get the 'Billie Jean' sound - it could be the right sound, or a different one from another patch).
Twice this has happened to me on an actual gig, so this is a massive nightmare for me. I've turned up to the gig, and the previous time I used the concert it was working fine, but now loads of the software instruments sounds have switched around, and I'm left desperately trying to fix everything up before we start playing.
One situation which has definitely at times caused this is loading up another concert (without closing the first) and copying patches between them. I have recently opened a concert, and it has been working fine, then opened another one and copied a patch from it, and now the software instruments in the first patch are messed up. But, I don't think this is the only cause, as I've now made a point of not doing this, and yet it still happened at last night's gig...
I used to be able to load up two concerts at once and copy between them with no problem, so this is definitely a recent problem.
Has anyone else experienced this?
