Mac OS X
Q: How do I restore two-factor authentication?
How can I restore two-factor authentication after having set up two-step authentication?
I am using:
- OS X El Capitan v 10.11.5 on MacBook Pro 13" early 2015
- iOS 9 on iPhone 4s
I mistakenly set up two-step authentication without realizing that the improved two-factor authentication is built into OS X 10 and iOS 9. I must have forgotten configuring two-factor authentication when I set up the new MacBook a year ago.
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Mac OS X
That worked!
Solution is to turn off Two-Step Authentication at AppleID website, then while online and synchronized, on OS X machine in Settings, turn on Two-Factor Authentication.
Thank you.
