May 27, 2016 7:41 AM in response to S.SubZeroby keg55,Works fine here on a home LAN. I restarted my rMBP and selected the 10.11.5 NetInstall. The rMBP booted to the OS X Utilities Menu. I launched DU - QUIT; then launched Reinstall OS X. I QUIT the installer since I really didn't want to install it.
Is your situation different? Are you able to boot to the OS X Utilities Menu, but not able to actually install when Reinstall OS X is selected?

Jul 18, 2016 12:53 PM in response to S.SubZeroby S.SubZero,Looks like 10.11.6 may have fixed it this time. We've done a few Thunderbolt-cable'd installs this morning with 0 issues.

Jul 18, 2016 6:21 PM in response to S.SubZeroby Michael Kuhn,Wondering if 10.11.6 fixes this issue: About the OS X El Capitan v10.11.6 Update - Apple Support
"Resolves an issue that may prevent startup from a NetBoot image created with an OS X v10.11.4 or OS X v10.11.5 installer."
Will have some testing to do tomorrow.

Netrestore of 10.11.4 and 10.11.5 FAIL
Here OS X 10.11.6 NetInstall seems to work again without any workarounds.
