- Open iTunes.
- From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Check for Updates.
- Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

No data is lost with a forced restart. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
