Q: Boot Camp update does not work (MacBookAir Mid 2011)
Dear Apple community,
I am from Germany and hope that I am able to describe my problem as best as I can in English language
I used Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit version so far on my MacBookAir from Mid 2011.
2 days ago I updated Windows 7 to Windows 10 and wanted to renew the Boot Camp version.
Actually I have Boot Camp 4.0 on my MacBookAir.
But if I am right, there should be a newer Boot Camp version be available for my MacBookAir according to this support site from Apple :
https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1721?locale=de_DE
So I downloaded the Boot Camp Support software 5.1.5640 and tried to start the setup.
But this does not work, if I try to start the setup, I get the following note (I translated it from German to English) :
"This version of Boot Camp can not be executed on this computer."
Has anybody an idea, why this version of Boot Camp does not work on my MacBookAir?
Best regards,
MiaSanMia

windows 10 is bootcamp 6.x.y.z not 5.1....
you need to boot up into osx and use the bootcamp util there to make a bootcamp 6 zip for you for whatever reason apple do not have a direct download link for bootcamp 6
