Q: No sign of Passbook settings or Apple Pay options anywhere.

This has been an ongoing frustration for me this past week. I currently own an iPhone 6, have it running on iOS 8.1, reside in the United States, have my settings in the United States, have attempted to teeter my location between the US & another country, have restarted my phone plenty of times... to no avail. There is no Passbook settings in my setting menu, and I have no option of adding a card. To be frank, I feel as if my iOS 8.1 update didn't do anything for me at all. I'm not understanding how or why I'm not meeting all the requirements to have and utilize my Apple Pay.

With iOS 8.1 and iPhone 6 and US settings I can finally see the Apple Pay option, but when I try to set it up I'm always told: "Could Not Connect to Apple Pay: Make sure you are connected to the Internet."

This is a slightly different version of the problem others have found, so I hope you won't mind my raising it. It's very frustrating.

Resetting settings worked for me too (after checking location and region settings are set to US)

    Thanks for the idea!

Finally figured this out. Apple Customer Service didn't solve this problem for me. They made me jump through hoops of resets etc to get this to work. Finally there was one little detail that I figured out unlocked it all. Apparently the criteria is as follows:

The OS has to be 8.1 or later

iCloud (US based) must be signed into

Your Apple ID you're using and logged into must also be US Based

    and finally

Your REGION FORMAT (Under Settings - General - Language&Region - Region Format) must also be set to UNITED STATES.

I had it all except the region format. It was set to UK on mine. Once I changed it I went back into Passbooks, clicked on the + sign (top right) and the option to set up credit card appeared finally. Once I went through those steps, now the Passbook & Apple Pay menu appears in my Settings menu.

Apple REALLY don't know much about this issue. They seemed totally lost about it. Hopefully this will help any of you with this issue!

Apple Pay was not showing up on my 6s, even though I was in the US and signed in with a US iTunes account.  had my region set to Italy, though, so I had to change my region to United States in the region formats under language and region in settings. Then Apple Pay shoes up.

Very useful. I had the same issue in Singapore and changing country in Regional settings to Singapore helped. Thanks
