Have you tried disconnecting from iCloud completely, then signing back in?

NOTE : Don't worry about what it's removing from your computer when you sign out. It's in the cloud, so it will download it again after you sign back in.

Try deleting the account and setting it up again.

To sign out from iCloud, just go in your System Preferences and select the iCloud pane. There, you should see an option to sign out from iCloud (on the left side, under the place your name and Apple ID). I'm assuming you know your iCloud password, of course (you can make sure by signing in to a website like iCloud.com or appleid.apple.com), so you can sign out, wait until it's done, then sign back in.
