Jul 19, 2016 10:34 AM in response to Bopokshelfby Bopokshelf,Clarification- I should have emphasis this up front.
I'ver converted music before using the process described.
For some reason I can't convert this audio book.
I had hoped that some had experienced a similar problem.

Jul 19, 2016 11:16 AM in response to Bopokshelfby Limnos,I have no audiobooks but I believe they require a .m4b extension which is a variant on AAC. Investigate what happens if you change the extension from .m4a to .m4b in Finder. You may then have to get info on the file and change its kind to audiobook.
If you really mean you cannot convert the .mp3 to .m4a then you need to provide more information about error messages or a description of each step you are taking and where it is not working. It means there is something specific to your computer configuration that is causing this problem. If others were having this problem the forum would be flooded with posts.

I exported the audio book and then reimported it as a mp3.
Then under information I changed it from music to audio book.
