Q: New iTunes update deleted my playlists, but kept my music. Help!
Whatever the latest iTunes version is (Garbage 12.4?), I updated to it and now all of my playlists that I've put literally hundreds of hours of time in meticulously organizing have completely disappeared, but my songs are still there (as far as I know) under "artist" and "song." But I want my old playlists back.
I'm so irate I can't even think right now, so I apologize if what I'm going to explain is incoherent. I did the recommended steps on Apple's website, for when playlists go missing after their updates (found the iTunes library file, moved that to the desktop, copied the previous itunes library from the date of the day I did the update, etc. etc.) and it didn't work at all. So now, I have thousands and thousands of songs I had previously organized that are scattered everywhere in this abortion of a program. What am I suppose to do to get my old playlists back? If I want to find a song, I have to either (a) recreate all of the playlists again and remember how the **** I had them organized--which took years, or (b) try to sort through thousands and thousands of songs by song, artist, or album. No thanks.
Is this just a lost cause at this point? Because if I invest any more time into this my head is going to pop off of my body in anger. Everything was complete and utterly f@#$ed the last time I updated iTunes, hence why I opted to NOT update iTunes until they forced me into it after recently updating my phone (which I was also forced to do to download any new apps), because it just gets worse with each version.
If my playlists are gone forever, I'm literally never going to buy another apply product again. It's the one thing keeping me stuck to them because my music is organized with itunes.
