Q: LoJack - How do I allow LoJack to See My MacBook and MacBook Pro in Guest Mode

THIS IS IN REGUERDS TO MY OSX 10.7.5 and 10.11.5.

Anybody out there use a Guest Account with LoJack installed on their MacBooks and MacBook Pros?

Well, I do, so how do I make all of me my Macs' GUEST User Accounts to have 100% complete access to Absolute Software so the Mac can be seen through their LoJack software that I use in the Admin Account?

Do I share LoJack with the Guest Account?  If so how?

LoJack Uses the IP Addresses to locate my items, and somehow, even though the Guest User has access 100% to the Internet (with an official IP Address), LoJack does not see it via the IP - it only sees it where it was previously - way over there on the other side of town.

I tried it a few times on BOTH of my Macs and LoJack does not see either of Macs when I was logged into Guest my Account - at this current location -  for 30 Hours.

But, when logged into my Admin Account - it sees it like a charm!

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), Intel i7 4GB RAM

Are you using a double NAT setup?? That could explain things.

When you use the guest network it is given a completely different IP range and if you double NAT that can cause serious issues.

I enabled NAT on my router and added my own IP to it.  Now that all ports are open, I have successfully made it happen.  It sees it.

Have you asked the makers of LoJack yet?

(I JUST UPGRADED MY ROUTER TODAY)

I did add NAT.  It all had to do with "Connecting to LoJack's Web server via new port number exceptions"

With Great thanks to these four companies communication-abilities, in just a little bit of time, I successfully troubleshooted with each of them via eMail and CHAT with:

    • LoJack
    • ESET CyberSecurity
    • AdGuard
    • NoScript

ESET - After performing a live chat with ESET they had me perform an installation of their FREE UPGRADE to ESET Cyber Security Version (6.2.6.0)

    - It Fixed It.

ESET informed me of the FIX - their New Version's "WEB ACCESS PROTECTION" GUI is now "different" - with its new GUI installed, it is now easier to visually analyze ports by more simple-handedly ENABLING all of the ports at once (in other words clearing the exceptions list)- a bit dangerous, I know, but I troubleshooted with them via a "remote-desktop mode" to see which port(s) would work as an exception.  It was Port Numbers 8080 (HTTP) and 5351 (NAT) that had to be added to the exceptions list.
