Q: full of ads

My Macbook Air is running slow. Sometimes my chrome open annoying website full of ads. How can I get rid of it!!!

I ran EtreCheck as suggested in other discussion but do not know how to do.

Seems Library/LaunchAgents/Search.pagerpost.com.ltvbit.plist is the bad guy, how can I clean it totally?

I assume you have adware. Follow the instructions on this web page  in order to manually remove adware from your mac: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987

You may also find adware removal guide on this page http://www.thesafemac.com/arg-identification/

If you do not want to remove adware manually use this anti malware tool in order to scan and remove it: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/?utm_source=blog&utm_medium=social

If you encounter the following issue in your Mac OS X, you might affect adware in your computer.

    1. Slowdown of the Operating System. Adware programs run constantly in the background, usually without the user's knowledge. Those apps run up processor resources and memory.
    2. Your homepage in browser change or there is a new toolbar in browser all of a sudden without the user’s knowledge.
    3. Advertisements show randomly in browser and desktop.

What’s worse, many adware programs cause additional adware programs to install on a computer.

What you need to do is getting rid of Adware immediately. Resetting browser could not remove all adware since most of adware are not browser toolbars. In this case, reinstalling OS X is not a good choice neither.

There are many application available on the Internet that remove adware. Unfortunately, some of the supposed adware removal applications actually put adware on your computer.

The safest and easiest way is to download sandboxed adware removal app in Mac App Store. In your case, I recommend Dr. Safety released by Trend Micro, the best antivirus company in the world.

Dr. Safety maintains and updates adware pattern continually to guarantee the best protection. User can identify the adware type affected in user’s computer according to the adware pattern recorded in http://appletuner.trendmicro.com/adware-pattern-list-maintained-dr-safety/

For your reference, I list part of them:

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Javeview.download.plist

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Javeview.ltvbit.plist

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Javeview.update.plist

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Jimbrie.download.plist

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Jimbrie.ltvbit.plist

    and more

If you are experiencing pop up ads, it may be due to adware or malware.

You can download the free malware removal utility.
