Q: Help Mac Pro Rebooting

I have a 2013 mac pro (running server).  I have multiple USB drives plugged in as follows:

- Dual USB Enclosure with 2 drives plugged in directly to mac pro (USB 3.0)

- Dual USB Enclosure with 2 drives plugged in directly to mac pro (USB 3.0)

- 2x External hard drives plugged into a powered USB 3.0 hub

i've tried unplugged the hub but i don't seem to be having the problem there.  I pulled the panic from yesterday, can anyone help?

already read through that when it was happening a week or so ago as well.  I'd say this is probably the 3rd or 4th time this has happened.

Please download and run EtreCheck, created by one of own helpers here in ASC. It is a diagnostic tool that's very useful to us in finding problems. Also it will give us further specs on your Mac. After it runs post the log file here. It will contain no personal information.

what's interesting after i looked at these i have 4 hard drives in my main two USB 3.0 enclosures - only the one is enclosure is coming up on the logs here?  yet it's online on the server itself.  it would be another JMicron device.

ClamXav has never been known to cause a Kernel Panic and does not install any .kext software, which, as I'm sure you know is the primary software cause of a Kernel Panic. In fact, there are no 3rd party .kext files install and from the sound of things, I strongly suspect this is a hardware caused KP.

The only background process that ClamXav is running is a scheduled update of the signature database once a day, so ClamXav is definitely not involved in any way.

I don't agree with you, why don't you offer the OP some help rather than criticizing others.

What's your suggestion, you can offer it here.

thank you.  i know it's not ClamAV as i only installed it to check just in case, this problem was happening well before that was installed.

As I said, this looks to be a hardware KP which is not at all unusual when USB 3.0 is concerned. Hubs are usually the primary suspect, especially if not powered (but OP seems to have eliminated that), followed by cables, enclosure electronics and finally Mac USB Ports gone bad.

But as I think you know, I'm an uncompensated ClamXav tech support guy, so any hardware advise I might give might not be worth the time of day. Everything I just outlined in that area are observations of other users with similar issues.
