Q: health data not recorded

I noticed none of my Health Data has been recorded. Not for sure how long it has not but I looked and I do not have any recorded data of said steps i have made etc? Is there a Bug/Glitch?Also does not hold the info when put in age, dob, sex, weight and height. I know it had worked before but now i see dashes in on my phone in every area that shows on the screen in the dashboard?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.3, null

    Hello TWIZTD_,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities!

Based on what you stated, it seems you are having issues with the Health App not retaining any data.  I enjoy using the Health App to keep track of my daily activity so I know how nice it is.  Hopefully, these steps will get it working again.

The first thing I would recommend would be to force quit the Health app:

Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the issue continues after restarting the App, then shutting off and restarting the iPhone would be the next step:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If the problem continues, you want to make sure you have a current backup of everything on your iPhone. If you follow this link, you will find instructions on how to do a backup:

How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes.

It is possible that something has become corrupted and is causing the problem.  Once the backup is finished, I would suggest to reset all settings.

Reset All Settings resets preference files that may be having issues. This step will not delete your contacts or photos or any personal information. It does remove all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy, and removes your Touch ID & Passcode.

You do this by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Once the iPhone restarts, test out the Health app to make sure it is working correctly.  More information on the Health app can be found here:

Use the Health app on your iPhone or iPod touch

    Cheers!

    Hi there Tim_135,

I have done tried all those recommendations but none have which have worked. So, I do not know where to go from here. Nothing I have done seems to have worked or anything that I have tried has worked. And I have tried many things to resolve it. Thanks for the suggestions and help.

    Kind regards.

    Hello TWIZTD_,

Since the issue is still occurring after the previous steps, we need to isolate the problem into either a hardware issue or a software issue.  To do this, we are going to want to restore the iPhone as new.  Since this will erase all the content on the iPhone be sure to have a current back up.

Once you have a backup, restore the iPhone as new, following these steps:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups.

Be sure to set up your device as a new device rather than restore the device from the backup.  Once the iPhone is restored as new, test and see if the Health app is working.  If it is still not working correctly, then the best option would be to have the iPhone check out by an authorized service provider.  You can find the closest one by looking here:

    Find Locations

If the Health app is now working, then go ahead and restore the backup using those same instructions:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

This time, be sure to use the Restore your device instructions.

If the problem starts again, this would indicate that there is something being loaded from the backup that is causing the issue.  If that happens, you would need to set up as new again, and then install the apps that you need back onto the phone.

    Have a great day!

    Hi again Tim,

Even when I go to look at the activity from my watch app within my phone nothing transfers over.No input from what I did all day shows in the Activity area from my watch in my phone. and on my phone no activity shows up in any form from anything i have done. but i am not wanting to really n to go and restore and set phone as new then go back and reset everything i have done as how my phone is all set up now how i want it. it is just that the health app on phone and i guess info/data from the watch and all is no longer working as it should. i have no idea how this has occurred as i just noticed it this morning that it was not working like it used to where on my phone i can see the health data and the activity data from the watch that it gets and all. Darn it man!!! I do not really want to go through all that resetting/restoring etc. Geesh!!!
