Q: Commercial DVD does not play on MacBook Pro.  "Not Permitted" and "Supported Disk Not Available" displayed.  DVD plays normally when inserted in a different player.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011) / 2 GHz Intel Core i7 / 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 / OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6

DVD Player Version 5500.66 / Build 5.560 (2)

When commercial DVD (NTSC) inserted into MacBook Pro DVD Player, "Not Permitted" and "Supported Disk Not Available" error messages are displayed when I attempted to play the DVD.  When DVD was removed from the MacBook Pro and inserted in a different DVD player, it functioned normally, so the DVD was apparently not the problem.

Your assistance is appreciated ......

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), 8 GB of Ram
