Q: Tune,12.4.1.6,I,no,longer,have,the,option,to,create,the,Apple,Losses,Version,on, the,File>Convert,submenu,-,where,is,it?

All of a sudden I cannot create Apple Lossless versions of AIFF or WAV song files. Yes, I know it moved to the File submenu.

What happened?

You have to pre-set the desired format in preferences (as it has been for the past 15 years).

    Hi,

    This is what I See

If you hold option key the sub menu changes to convert to .....

By the way I think that the support document is incorrect - it shows:

    1. Select one or more songs in your library and choose File > Create New Version > Create [format] Version.

    Limnos,

It used to be in the right click menu. It's not there anymore and I guess I didn't do a good enough search in the upper menus.

    Jim,

Thanks for that. I searched the web and so many people were mentioning it missing. It used to be in the right click menu. It's gone from there now, but at least it still exists. THANK YOU!

To follow up I have found another tweek.

If you import a CD as AIFF (not sure why I did that but, I did) then the next time you use the file>convert menu all you'll have is the AIFF convert option. From this I deduce that the last import option selected chsmges you convert option too. Once I did an import as AAC I could then convert to AAC/M4A.
