Q: Final Cut Pro Error 60 on Export
I've been doing a lot of research and am unable to come up with a solution to my error. So I'm hoping you all might be able to offer me some direction. Here is my situation:
We often record 2-3 hour workshops with a small Canon camcorder (HD video). The camcorder automatically cuts the files into 2GB, so depending on the length of the workshop I might have 4-5 videos. This video gets pulled into my late 2013 Mac Pro desktop (3.5GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5, 64GB RAM, dual AMD FirePro D500 3GB video cards). The video is typically WMV, so it gets converted using Wondershare to MOV. I import the MOV file into FCPX where I slice it into smaller segments - usually 20-40 minutes - and add our splash, title, and closing screen. Then I export it to our Vimeo.
While this works 9 out of 10 times, it's the 1 time that it doesn't that has me stumped. Take my current project for example. It consisted of two days of training (about 7 hours total). I pulled all of the video files into FCPX, then merged each day into a single project and cleaned it up. I then found good break points, and did a "Duplicate Project as Snapshot" of the master. Then I remove what I don't need for that particular part. However, about 60-70% of them are exporting successfully - the others are giving me "Error 60" with no further information (like frame). I have tried to copy everything to a new project, and it fails. I have tried to simply "Export Master", and it fails. I removed the video from the project and it will export (either Master or to Vimeo). So it's something to do with the video.
But why is it random, and what are the best troubleshooting steps? Do I have to go back and try to re-edit everything from the start (even though over half of them worked fine)? Or is there a way to determine what/where in the video is causing this?
Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Just an update on this. The files from the camcorder were not WMV (I was thinking of an older camcorder) but were MTS. When I first started using FCPX I had problems using the original MTS files, but tried again and they worked fine. This will hopefully help with any issues since I won't have to go through a conversion process first!
