Q: iphone 5s stuck on low battery screen
yesterday morning, i was on a trip and i put my phone on charge; it was kind of warm and on 83%. it charged, however, it went onto the apple logo screen. my friends told me it was nothing to worry about. 15 minutes later, it stayed like that and i was freaking out so i took it out of charge and the charger was boiling hot - it kind of melted and the phone itself was hot. the charger wasn't an apple charger; it was a primark one and it was only a replacement for this trip as my apple one broke.
i went to a teacher and she pressed the home button and the on/off button - it turned off and she turned it back on with the home button and on/off button and it went on the low battery screen. the coach only has it chargers on when the coach is running may i add so we kept charging it and it did not turn on one it. my friend let me use her charger so i plugged it into my phone - it went onto the low battery screen but with the charger and lightning bolt thing on it. i took it out as it did nothing so my friend used it - charged it immediately. she has a iphone 5s as well.
i got home at 10:50pm so i charged it whilst i went to sleep with my sister's charger (which is apple and works perfectly fine) and once i woke up, didn't charge one bit. i've cleaned the charger hole but i am too anxious to do one of those 'warming the towel and adding it onto the phone and charging it' as i've seen it in every discussion when i search what to do. when i try to turn on the phone with the on/off button, it stays onto the low battery screen with 3 red bars.
the phone itself: i got it online and it was bought in january this year. worked completely fine but had a few scratches and dents here and there. i'd really appreciate some help as i do not wish to start off my summer with a bad start. please help!
iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.3

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support
If the phone is still not charging normally as it should it could be sign of a hardware issue.
You may wish to contact apple and schedule a visit to an apple store for an examination before you resort to non-advised procedures that could cause a larger problem or serious injury.
