Q: iOS 9.3.3 broke iBooks store on iPad

After the 9.3.3 iOS update (7/19/2016), the iBooks store will not open on my iPad Pro 9.7, nor will it open on my iPad Mini 4. My books works fine, just the Featured, Top Charts, etc. will not open. iBooks works fine on my iPhone 6S and iMac.

    After imac upgrade yesterday, the ibook unable to launch, marked fail to read bk lby. ipad pro work limited only to my books with blank purchased page.

    but ibook on my 4s works 100% normal ? Why only iMac & iPad pro fail ?

    On my old iPad it started to work again, only for it to go proof ! My new IPad Air 2, no iBooks store either. So back to both of them not working in the store. I seriously do not want to do a reset. When I called Apple support, after over an hour they suggested it could be my router. But everything works perfectly fine on the router. We did a reset, same old NO IBOOKS STORE.

    I still seem to be having this problem on my IPad Mini 4. Wish it would get fixed soon.

    My iPad Air 2 had Ibooks briefly around 11PM PDT yesterday then it stopped working and went away.  This is very strange.  I was using the iPad to read on another app and randomly checked Ibooks and there it was, then as I started to use the store, it seemed to freeze and then stopped working.  I closed the Ibook app and then it was no longer working when I opened it again.

    I Did a setting reset. No joy. I also was only one of a class of 6 today unable to access an unsecure but captive wifi with eithr my phone or iPad. Both work fine on my home secure wifi.

    I resetted the iPad Pro and installed the Apple Software only. There was the same error with the iBook Store on the empty iPad without installed backup. Hope, it will be fixed soon. It is definitely a Software error by Apple. My iPhone works fine without this error.

    IBook seemed to work again on my IPad Mini 4 for a short time an hour ago but now it's not working again. Seem to be a problem that's still not really been fixed. Yet it's always been fully  working on my IPhone 5s.

    Just seems strange.

    I've tried the suggested fix of restarting my iPads, signing out and back in to the iTunes and App Stores, but still can't browse or buy any books using the iBooks app.  The screen is blank for Featured, NY Times, Top Charts, Top Authors, and Purchased links at the bottom of the screen.  I have this problem on my iPad Pro 9.7, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3.  As others have stated, it appears to be a problem with iPads only.  The iBooks app works fine on my 5th Gen iPod touch, and iPhone 5.

     

    Apple better fix this problem soon or lose business to Amazon and the Kindle app.

    I have the same issue I tried the hard restart and it worked for me (well for now!)
    I have a 9.7-inch iPad Pro. Obviously this is a problem and I hope Apple fixed it permanently!

    As of 6:30 PM U.S. Central Time, Friday, July 22, 2016, my iBooks is up and running again without any effort on my part to fix the problem. Hope it keeps working.

    screen in iBooks still blank, just like Apple's response to the problem,,,,,empty! Why is Apple so badly bruised and broken lately, nothing works right without major attending to it with this gimmick or that,,,I was drawn to Apple because it worked on demand all the time,,,now desperately lacking! 1 Mac, 1 MacPro, 5 iPads, 4 iPhones, iPod, Apple TV,,,time for somebody at Apple to be replaced by somebody who is driven by dependability, not just innovation!

    iBooks seems to be working for me now on both of my iPads. Hopefully it will continue to work.
