Q: disable "Check out Photos for OS X" notification

In the top right corner of the screen there has been a notification stating that "Check out Photos for OS X" notification. How could I stop this notification? I have blocked it in notification center by set the alert style to none and uncheck all the check boxes, and I also have unchecked Automatically check for updates. But seems all not work.

If you have 10.10.5, go to the Applications folder and open Photos. Then quit it and see if the Notification stops.

Thanks for your reply. But I haven't activate Photos before. So I don't think this could works. And also I tried to remove this app, still could got the notification. So I think this notification maybe not come from Photos.

Are you still using iPhoto 9.6.1?  If so you don't want to launch Photos as it will automatically start to migrate your iPhoto library to a Photos library.

First go to the System/Notification preference pane, locate Photos and click on the None option and uncheck all of the checkboxes:

    System Preferences002.jpg

If that fails to stop that notification launch Photos with the Option key held down and select the option to create a new, empty library.  Once the new library is created close Photos and you should stop getting that notification.

I have tried the first way to block from 'System Preferences-> Notifications', it won't work. I will try the second one. Thanks for your replay!

The second way solve my question. I didn't create a Library for Photos, I click Photos, and then click "Get Started" then it will create the Library. Check home directory -> Pictures -> Photos Library. This also solve my issue.
