May 10, 2016 11:53 AM in response to Lionby KiltedTim,No. There doesn't. What there needs to be is come common sense and personal responsibility on the part of buyers.
Apple has provided a method of checking whether the device is activation locked or not.
Automatically removing the lock after a period of time would completely defeat the purpose of activation lock as a theft deterrent. All a thief would have to do would be sit on it for a month before they try to use/sell it.

May 10, 2016 11:57 AM in response to tonefoxby silvasp1,I may be assuming too much here, but I might recommend returning it to the owner. (I've had one stolen so I'm a little sensitive)

May 10, 2016 12:25 PM in response to silvasp1by Roger Wilmut1,If you are unfortunate enough to buy a stolen and Activation Locked phone there is no way of tracing the owner. Apple cannot provide this information, even should they know it, because of privacy laws. The only thing you can do is turn it into the police though it's unlikely they would have much inclination to go through the process of getting the information.

There needs to Be away to get past a Locked iphone thats Icloud locked. Im Tired of all the Scammers Puting on the Icloud lock and Selling the Phones 90% of thes Phones isnt Even reported lost or stolen or even black listed. its not about there data on the phone if u are on the Icloud Lock screen there no data on the Phone
hers a Thought if a device or acc hasn't been used in a Month delete there old device and if the hole acc hasnt been used in a Month Delete it as well BC if u haven't used it in that Long you not going to use it
Nope, not at all acceptable. It's my device and nobody has any right to remove any security feature I've activated without my explicit consent. An arbitrary timeout simply renders an effective anti-theft feature into an utterly pointless one.

Yes: the answer (as stated over and over again in this and other threads) is that if a second-hand phone is Activation Locked only the person who set it can unlock it. There is no workaround. The system is an anti-theft device, designed to make stealing an iPhone an unattractive proposition since it will be useless, and as such has effected a considerable reduction in the number of thefts. If there was a workaround there would be no point in having it in the first place.

The answer is simple and has been noted here many, many times. In order to activate an iPhone or iPad that is activation locked, you need the password for the iCloud account associated with the device. If you do not have that password, cannot get it, or cannot get the password owner to assist in removing activation lock then you will never be able to activate and use the device.
Apple's own support page has the answer clearly spelled out - Turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

Yes, EVERYONE has found the answer. And the answer is that there is no way to ever use an iPhone that is activation locked without the cooperation of the user who enabled Find my iPhone. You don't have to like the answer, but it is the ONLY answer, nonetheless.
