Jul 24, 2016 11:54 AM in response to farrington63by HockeyCoachBen,As Esquared mentioned above...you can use the iPad with no SIM, but you will constantly nagged with a "No SIM Card Installed" message on your home screen. Of course, you won't be able to use the iPad on cellular connections with no SIM card. Other than that, the iPad will work on WiFi just fine.
The other option is to install a dead/deactivated SIM card from somewhere and turn off Cellular Data then the nag message will stop and you can use the iPad as WiFi-only. No worry about being charged for cellular plan because the SIM is dead anyway and the iPad cellular portion is turned off.
