Q: Caller volume to low - Won't go higher

Okay this may or may not be connected to my most recent Apple software update.

 

All of a sudden the phone volume of callers on my iPhone 6 are to low to almost even hear. I've tried everything to possibly increase the volume but nothing happens. I've compared it to other iPhones and my volume limit is almost half of what others get. The callers on the other end of the conversation hear me just fine, it's just on my end that the volumes to low. Since getting this phone almost 2 years ago it's been trouble free.

 

I've been searching online for possible answers but nothing seems to work. Many others have apparently also had this problem. Any thoughts or recommendations?

    I see that all of a sudden the phone volume of callers is very low on your iPhone 6. I understand how important it is to make sure that you can hear your calls clearly with no issues. I'll be more than happy to assist you with this. 

     

    Use If you can‘t hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn‘t clear on your iPhone, and clear and check the receiver of the iPhone, specifically, these sections:

    Clear the receiver

    The iPhone receiver won't work properly if it's blocked or dirty.

    Follow these steps, testing after each:

    • Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver, such as a case or film.
      If you have a new iPhone, remove the plastic film on the front and back of the device.
    • Check the receiver opening to see if it's blocked or dirty. If necessary, clean the receiver opening with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
    • While you're on a call, turn on speakerphone. If you still can't hear, then your network or reception could be the issue. Try calling again later or from a different location.

     

    Check the receiver

    Follow these steps to see if the issue is with your receiver or your network:

    1. Open the Voice Memos app and record a short audio clip.
    2. Tap   in the upper-right corner of your screen to switch playback between the speaker and receiver.
    3. Tap   to play the voice memo through the receiver on your device.
    4. If you hear the voice memo and it sounds normal (without distortion, crackling, or static), there might be an issue with your carrier network or voicemail system. If you still hear no sound or poor quality sound, contact Apple Support.
