Q: Tracking down duplicate contact info

I have an issue that one of my contacts on my macbook isnt available to me on imessage or facetime even though it is an apple id.

The contact is from my google contact list.

I tied various things such as deleting it from google and adding on icloud, deleting it from there too and adding on my mac.

Nothing seemed to work.

BUT while doing all this I noticed something:

I had (I thought) deleted the contact info from everywhere and added again. Now the contact has 2 email addresses but I only added 1 address (the apple ID one) when I created it again BUT the 2nd email address was autofilled somehow.

now right at the outset I did a merge for all my contacts and I can only assume there is another card for this contact floating around somewhere on this mac with the rest of the info which it is merging but I have no idea where to check.

I want to delete all traces and try again - ANYTHING to try to get this contact accessible on imessage and facetime.

Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 8.1.1
