Q: connecting my mac to wifi also connects my iphone. what is that called?
I bought a new wifi access point and set it up from my mac. I typed in the wifi password using my mac, then switched over to my iPhone so I could then also connect it to the same wifi - but it was already connected. Hmm.
I then went to my wife's mac and connected it to the wifi, then to her iPhone to connect it - and it too was already connected to the wifi.
So connecting a mac will connect the paired iPhone to the same network. That's neat, but what feature is it in, and what is it called?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11), 2015, 2.8GHZ i7, 16GB

If you're using iCloud, possibly iCloud Keychain is the answer. Apple lets you save your passwords on iCloud so you can access them from every device with your Apple ID and with iCloud Keychain enabled. Read -> Frequently asked questions about iCloud Keychain - Apple Support
