Q: iPhone 5 Touch is not working correctly

Hey guys,

following problem:
My touchscreen stopped working a couple of weeks ago. But it was not the "normal" way. It was more like "sometimes I work, sometimes I don't" and some kind of "I click on things that I want, you can not type on your own." After a few weeks with that problem I was a little bit annoyed so I changed the touchscreen on my iPhone (I changed the complete front). A few days it was completely okay, but now I have the same problems again. The weird thing is, that the touchscreen is mostly not working when I am at home and connected to our wifi. Maybe it is just my imagination but it gets really on my nerves. Have you got any clue or the same problem?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi flauschpony,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding your iPhone screen is responding intermittently. I can surely see how this would be concerning. I know it's important tot be able to use the screen consistently and in all locations. I am happy to help.

At this point I suggest troubleshooting the software by erasing your phone and setting it up as new. I definitely don't want you losing any content so it's very important you back up first. Once your phone has been erased and set up as new, test the phone without your content to see if the issue persists. Please use the steps in this link to back up and set up as new:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

    Have an amazing day!
