Q: Search on file titles-does anyone else want it back?
I was recently forced to move from 10.6 to 10.11.5 by the death of my Mac mini and buying a new one. Suddenly I find I can only search on the entire contents of files. The option to search on just titles is gone. I have thousands of files which are pdfs or links to research papers. Previously I could remember a title key word and turn up a few files with a search, one of which would be what I wanted. Now I search on a keyword and get hundreds or thousands of files, most of which have nothing to do with what I want. A search which returns a large fraction of the files on the hard drive is essentially useless. Why does Apple think removing features is progress? My experience over the last few years is that the main purpose of new OS releases is to screw up what they had right previously.

Press the key combination command-F in the Finder to open a search window. Enter any search criteria you like.
