You need to be able to connect to a Wi-Fi network in order to update your iPhone.

The password it is asking for is to the WiFi you are trying to connect too. If you have Wifi in your home through an internet provider or cable service, you can easily call them and they will supply you with your password. If you do not, there are plenty of places like coffee shops that offer free wifi. Once you are there try connecting to their Wifi and then updating your phone. You just need to have your phone charged to around 80% but I would make sure it is close to a full charge and probably bring my charger.

    Hopefully this helps.

Do you mean that you don't have an internet connection to your home? You would need a connection and a wifi router (this is often supplied by the firm providing the connection). If this is the case there would be a default password (if you haven't changed it) and the documentation or your provider can tell you what it is.

If you don't have an internet connection and wifi router, then what you are seeing is a list of your neighbours' wifi signals, and you are obviously not going to be able to connect to them. This leaves the free wifi at a coffee shop or similar as your only option.

Your phone has wifi to enable it to connect to a wifi signal. You can connect to your own wifi signal - it's not clear whether you have one - or to free wifi in a coffee shop or similar, but you cannot connect to your neighbours' wifi even if you can see them listed. The phone's wifi by itself - for example in the middle of Antarctica - wouldn't do anything at all.
