Q: numbers iCloud access via Windows

Hey there

I made a numbers sheet on my mac and submitted it to several friends via iCloud-numbers to edit it altogether. Some of those are using windows and having problems accessing the sheet. iCloud says the sheet is at this moment not available. But it is via macos!

I tested it myself via Windows 10 with edge and IE. it says the same.

Is there any plugin to install?

Does someone has any experience with sharing to windows user?

Thx vor helping !

You should be able to share the iCloud link via the Share icon in your toolbar.  I usually then choose email. The recipients then click that link in their email and Numbers for iCloud should open in their browsers. No macros are involved.

Hi SG, this is exactly what I am doing. and it works for all macosx clients. But it does not for windows. Apple says iCloud is availably for Windos 7 and above, but i do get the error message as mentioned above. Any idea about that?

It definitely should work on browsers running under Windows.  What browsers are you using?  Perhaps you have security settings on the browsers that are blocking?

Thx for replying. Well, I added iCloud to trusted zones under windows. but still no success.

It shouldn't be a problem I have, cause the others have the same...

and the page is loading. so there shouldn't be any security issues...

Cookie or privacy settings in the browsers?

And what browsers are being used?  AFAIK, most modern browsers work.

As i wrote in the first post, i tried Edge and internet explorer. trying firefox later.

privacy settings are default windows 10 settings.

Have no way of knowing what "default Windows 10 settings" are on your end.

Here an iCloud link works OK in Edge despite warning message it's not fully supported. Maybe you have some kind of privacy or security settings that are blocking.

default means after cleanly installed windows operating system. no changes.

So, in firefox it behaves normally. I get access to it.

interestingly edge asks me to login with my appleid. Firefox didn't, and showed it directly. hm,.

Hm,. now it works on edge, too!! FTW !?!?

Didn't do anything. First it got me the message you cited, then it says it couldn't be display. So I switched to firefox, when I switched back to Edge I saw the sheed. What happened !? Don't know, probably a problem with the servers?

SG thank You for Your effort in helping my !

Glad it worked out.  Chalk it up to another one of those temporary glitches to which computers and our brains (at least my brain) are prone.  When in doubt I keep trying different things, with a restart here and then.

Though iCloud isn't really a full-featured, industrial strength collaboration tool, it can be quite handy for simultaneous edits of a document among a relatively small team whose members are working on different platforms.
