Q: when I attempt to import, only the photos show up  and not the videos

I have taken both photos and videos with my digital camera. Now I am using my Apple SD card adapter to download both to my iphone6+ and to my iPad.  In both cases when I attempt to import, only the photos show up  and not the videos.  I am using a SDHC 32gb card which is a compatible with Apple products.  If I record  video directly with my phone or ipad, I get the little video icon that shows that  it is a video and not a photo.   On my Camera roll page it show that I have 366 pictures and 20 videos but the only videos which show up are the 2 or 3 that I took with my phone, none with the camera.   I don't use iCloud.  I would appreciate any help.
