Q: "Not allowed" to post or edit content?

I just posted a question about IPhone usage. Initially, the site informed me that I was "not allowed to post or edit that content." I've encountered this warning before. In each case I've eventually been able to post, but I have no idea why I received this warning or why the site eventually decided it was OK for me to post. What's going on?

Thanks

It happens regularly and usually signing out/back in will do the trick. You are automatically signed out after about 30 minutes of inactivity; however, it could also be a site software (Jive) glitch and/or some word/combo in your post did not make it through the spam/bad word filter. Usually though, it's the fact that you've been signed out. Nothing to worry about, just learn to ignore/live with it. I usually copy my reply just in case.

    HI Eric,

You are seeing a very common glitch in the Jive software that runs this forum. I have seen it myself quite a few times and other users see it as well. It is nothing that you did and there is nothing that you can do to prevent it.

The one exception to the glitch would be if you try to post again within 30 seconds of your first post. You can only post once every 30 seconds. That restriction is in place to prevent spamming

I don't imagine it would apply in your case but, for new members, there is a limit to the number of times they can post in (I believe) a single day. This was put into effect after one of the really bad spam attacks. As you've been a member for quite some time and have posted quite a bit, that shouldn't be the reason for you.

Thanks. I don't think the posting again within 30 seconds has been the problem. Most often I just have one question.
