Q: Configurator 2 first time use. Please help.

Hello there. I have been tasked with management of our IOS devices for my employer. I dont have a large use base of IOS but am competent.

I am trying to use configurator to manage a device but am running into issues. When the air watch support staff intitally help us set up configurator they created certificate under a blue print. He did not match any of the information with our company and just left it generic. When I got the PC set back up at my desk I then created a second cert with correct information. As a side note, one of them has an icon that is blue while the other has a yellow icon. Not sure the difference here.

I have created a profile to be used with this device I am trying to set up and saved it. I have also created a second one to be used with another device type we use. Both are set up manually and not tied to our MDM. The devices are used and are being reset by configurator when applying the blueprint/profile.

In the process of applying the profile it goes through the App install and installs all the apps I have set to be pushed but then shortly after errors out with the error The profile "profile name" could not be installed because it is invalid.

I am fairly green to this software but as I mentioned am comfortable in it. What am I dong in the profile creation process that is causing this? I can say I did not assign a certificate to the profile as I have it added in the blue print.

I could really use some guidance on this. The airwatch agent didnt really spend any time on questions for this software. We do have another call with him in 2 weeks in which I can ask questions however my boss wants these devices set up as of now.  Any help is really appreciated.

The device I am currently trying to set up is an Ipad 3rd gen. I am running the software from a Mac mini. Any other questions please ask and I will get you that information.

iPad, iOS 9.3.3

Just to update, after running through the set up I then ran just the blue print and it finished without issue. All of the Apps are installed and it looks like the settings i set in the profile are applied?

I believe I know what I have done wrong but would like confirmation.

When creating the blue print I have applied a profile to it. When I am in the device management tab I applied the same profile to it as well. Would this cause the issue I am seeing?
