Q: Help - How do I get my photos?

Jul 27, 2016 1:19 PMby elcpu,Can you see all 7,000+ photos and videos on your phone? If so don't use the DCIM folders, invoke the import wizard (right click on the phone icon on File Explorer) and import them to your computer. This article may help. The link to Windows 10 is broken (you don't need Essentials, I don't), look at the W8 link instead.

Jul 27, 2016 2:06 PMby louann84,Thanks for that. They are all showing on my phone yes but when I did as you said, it again only found 322.
I've been trying to get the icloud on my PC but everytime I hit download pics and video's, it says it's preparing the library.
Thank you for any advice/assistance. I'm terrified I'll lose these pictures and videos.

I've logged on via my internet browser and I can see they are mostly all there (just the last few days are not so assuming I have to back them up again). Just because I am a tech-idiot, can you tell me, if I delete them from my phone, will they always stay in my icloud? Like if I completely wiped my phone to start a fresh, would they be there?

Please do not delete them from the phone before you have imported or downloaded them to your computer and for safe measure backup your computer to an external hard drive. I cannot tell you how many people have lost them by deleting on the phone and thus deleting on iCloud.
Pls. try to download them to your computer first. Archive or make copies of your iCloud data - Apple Support
